Jim Allen

Pittsfield, MA

Allen has 9 years at Berkshire Bank, as it has grown from $1billion, 10 branch enterprise to its $2 billion, 31 branch presence in Western Massachusetts and Eastern New York. Prior to Berkshire, he was at Vermont National Bank for more than 8 years as Technical Services Manager and began his career at the Mortgage Finance division of Patten Corp., a real estate company as a network administrator and programmer. He holds a BS in Information Science from Hartwick College, Oneonta, NY.


Roger Batsel
VP Managing Director of Information Systems
Republic Bank & Trust
Louisville, KY

Batsel provides technology leadership and direction for Republic Bank & Trust Company and oversees its technology investment. He directs the Bank's information security office, technology project management group, technical support teams, and application development teams. Prior to joining the Bank, Batsel served as a Senior Enterprise Architect for the US divisions of Dutch insurer and financial services provider, AEGON NV. He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Project Management Professional (PMP), and earned his MBA from Bellarmine University in 2006.


Jason K. Bawcum
VP of Security
Community South Bank
Parsons, TN

Bawcum is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving Community South Bank's overall security program, including supervision of the information security program. He began at Community South in 2004 in the IT Department as a Helpdesk Analyst and was rapidly promoted to Information Security Officer. In 2006 became Bank Security Officer and was promoted to Vice President of Security in January 2007. Bawcum serves on the Tennessee Bankers Association Security Committee. He holds a BSBA in Management Information Systems from UT Martin, and is currently pursuing CISM certification.


Brandon Farmer
VP of Information Technology
Bank of The James
Lynchburg, VA

Farmer worked at Bank of The James while it was in its organizational stage in 1999 and joined full-time in 2001 after finishing his undergraduate business degree at Virginia Tech. As head of the IT Department for past three years, he is a certified Microsoft System Engineer for Windows 2000. As the bank's Security Officer his responsibilities include information security, physical security, bank internal operations and “anything powered by electricity.” He has one year to complete an ABA at Stonier Graduate School of Banking.


Keith Gosselin
IT Officer
Biddeford Savings
Biddeford, ME

Gosselin as IT Officer at Biddeford Savings leads the information security program at the 140-year old bank. He is also active in the local and regional anti-phishing groups. His information security program supports 70 bank employees at three locations through a layered security approach and annual training of staff.


Gary Hoffstein
VP of Information Technology
Hyde Park Savings Bank
Boston, MA

As Vice President of Information Technology since 2002 at Hyde Park Savings Bank, Hoffstein has led the implementation of VoIP at the bank, multiple upgrades and conversions to newer technology to improve the bank's IT processes as well as automating loan and mortgage processing. He has led the institution's efforts of implementing strong information security practices and policies. Prior to joining Hyde Park Savings Bank, Hoffstein had more than 17 years of experience in the computer industry.


Stephen Irish

Irish has more than 25 years of experience in banking. Early in his career he worked in the Office of the Comptroller of Currency (OCC). He holds an MS in MIS, and is a CPA as well as a Certified Information Technology Professional CPA (CITP).


David Rossnagel
Director of Internal Auditing
Investors Savings
Millburn, NJ

Rossnagel is Director of Internal Auditing at Investors Savings, one of New Jersey's largest independent community banks with 46 full-service branches in eight counties. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Financial Managers Society. He is past president of the FMS New York/New Jersey Chapter and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.


Kia Ware
SVP
Eastern Virginia Bankshares (EVB)
Tappahannock, VA

Ware is the Senior Vice President of Operations and Technology at EVB. She began her banking career in 1987 at Bank of America (then Sovran) in the retail branch network. Kia joined the Federal Reserve Bank in 1993, and worked in its Bank Supervision & Regulation and IT Audit areas. In 2002 she joined EVB, an $850 million community bank with 22 branches. Ware earned a BS in Commerce in 1993 and a Masters degree in MIS, 2001, both from the University of Virginia.
